Get Ready Queensland Week is from 8-13 October 2024.

Every October we promote Get Ready Queensland Week, a great time for all Queenslanders to make sure their preparations are in place for severe weather.

We have events happening all over the state where you can find out more about how to Get Ready for severe weather.   Find one closest to you below.

The Brisbane launch of Get Ready Queensland week will take place at Corinda State High School in Southwest Brisbane.   

The event will have local emergency services on hand, Johnathan Thurston be there and it will feature a resilient building workshop for the trade school.

Get Ready Queensland are launching the Livestock Severe Weather Emergency Plan at the Blackall Saleyards.

Flagstone Point High School students are creating a severe weather walk.

This event is the result of a co-design pilot project on disaster resilience and the meaning of getting ready with students of Flagstone Community College.

City of Logan, Flagstone State Community College, Leadrr and Get Ready Queensland invites you to attend a ‘Students Voice in Disaster Resilience’ a ‘Walking Fence Exhibition.

This is a wonderful opportunity to view their work about what ‘Getting Ready’ means to them.  The students work will be on display on the fence, you can talk to students about the project and honour their viewpoint of being prepared.  We are excited to have you ‘Walk the Fence’ .
